for Claire Basler's Open House 2018. 5 slots available.
In the four years since I first wrote about Claire Basler she has moved from her ironworks property in Montreuil, Paris to an old school property set in lush surroundings in Les Ormes, an hour's drive from Paris. The long-neglected building was smothered in weeds and vegetation, with ivy growing through cracks in the walls, begging to be let in. It's as if this place was waiting for Claire, who gleans inspiration for her large-scale floral paintings from nature, inviting it to creep onto her canvases.
The dining room gives the impression of being submerged in a pond of algae; a chlorophyll wonderland.
The dining table was designed by Claire and made by her partner, Pierre (pendant lights by Ikea).
She composes energetic floral arrangements on a daily basis, adorning every corner of her home, providing inspiration wherever she turns, for her large-scale paintings.

Out in the garden...
Claire painted stunning wall murals throughout the home.
Her cat, Mademoiselle Cassandra napping...
Her Labradors, Prune and Ziza, lucky dogs! ...
Is this her "junk" room?! ...
I adore the palette of this bedroom...
You can sense the ghost of the former school in this room...
I need that many shelves. I have over 2000 books that need to breathe. Dear Claire, If you should need a roomate...
Her "office"...
So Claire, after having done the research for this article and reviewing all of the culled information repeatedly, I am still unsure as to whether or not I've included some images from another domicile of yours. Apparently, besides the ironworks place in Montreuil and the old school house in Les Ormes you also own a 13th century castle in Central France, n'est-ce pas? Please feel free to correct me on this.
